Four Groups - It takes more than just the student to make a WISE Commitment

Step 1

Group 1: STUDENTS
"I want to be a free hand animator." "I got a scholarship because I was Hispanic!"

Let your students hear from their peers about dreams, obstacles and resources with the Student Commitment DVD. Then get your student’s ideas flowing with a Dream Action Deck to help them personally identify their own dreams and resources. The final step is a formal commitment to get a higher education, put down in writing on an action card and attached to their own Education Dream Catcher with the date of their graduation.

Step 2

Group 2: PARENTS
“Every parent should see this DVD and talk to their child.” Maria G.

The Prosperity Conversation or Platica De Prosperidad, is a DVD made by first generation parents for first generation parents about getting their children to college. Get your parents committed to a higher education in the security of their own home. Learn the 4 "C"s of parent involvement in the Achieving the College Commitment Dream Series and obtain a powerful technique to get parents involved used worldwide.

Step 3

Group 3: FRIENDS
“Why do you have a dream catcher with a 2014 graduation tassel on your backpack?” “That’s the date I graduate!”

The Education Dream Catcher gets the college conversation going in the lunch room and hallways. Teach the students specific techniques on overcoming stereotype threat from the Achieving the College Commitment Dream Series and you have a powerful way to influence student conversation. The Collegemercials are a fun way to keep you students talking about the value of a higher education.

Step 4

Group 4: PROFESSIONALS
“I loved the training" “I can use these parent techniques immediately!”

The Dream Catcher Series: Achieving the College Commitment is an excellent way to motivate you and your staff to have a college going culture. Show the ten 15-20 minute trainings to your staff then discuss ways to encourage your students for college. It will empower your team and get the college conversation going with your staff.
